The Spark web site will be retired on August 15th 2017. But please don’t worry! WordPress (http://sites.tufts.edu) and Confluence Wikis (http://wikis.uit.tufts.edu) will remain in place and there are no plans to remove those tools from university-wide use as they continue to provide a valuable service to the community. Those tools will continue to be available via their respective home pages.
Two tools that are directly built into the Spark web site, MediaMarkup and the Podcasting tool, will be retired. However, ETS offers alternative services that we can direct you to and help you use:
- For MediaSpace users, ETS supports two solutions for video annotation: MediaSpace and VoiceThread.
To learn more about MediaSpace refer to our user guide.
To learn more about VoiceThread watch their intro video.
- Podcasting can be achieved using WordPress via sites.tufts.edu using a plugin.
Between now and August 15th we will be reaching out to MediaMarkup and Spark Podcast owners to discuss options for archiving and/or migrating your content to the alternative platforms.
On May 21st we will be disabling the ability to create new items via the Spark web site interface.
If you have any question, concerns, or feedback on any of these tools and services please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
