The background photo of this blog is one of Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian’s pioneering mirror mosaic artworks. Farmanfarmaian is a contemporary Iranian artist known for “combining geometric design, reverse-glass painting, and mirror mosaic techniques from traditional Persian palatial, sacred, and folk art.” Her blending of Eastern and Western influences inspired her renowned spiritiual, structural, mosaics.
