Artak Beglaryan Delivered a Lecture at Fletcher School and Harvard University

On November 5 and 8, State Minister of Artsakh Republic Artak Beglaryan delivered a lecture at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and at the Harvard University Center for Human Rights. As a graduate of Tufts University’s Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, the Minister of State was invited to give a lecture on the geopolitics of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict at the leading university of diplomacy. Artak Beglaryan stressed that Azerbaijan and Turkey continue to show destabilizing behavior in the region, regularly violating the rights of the people of Artsakh. The State Minister used the fair settlement of the conflict on the basis of the norms of international law, including the right of peoples to self-determination, in order to ensure lasting peace in the South Caucasus. The State Minister and his Chief Adviser Davit Hakobyan presented the developments in the South Caucasus in the context of broad regional and international developments, considering the growing radical groups and behavior in the Middle East as a long-term threat to world order. They stressed that Artsakh in 2020 has become one of the main targets of such challenges, which, due to its methodology and the involvement of terrorist groups, is fraught with tangible dangers for remote regions. At the Harvard University Human Rights Center, Artak Beglaryan presented the human rights issues that arose during the war of 2020 and the consequent atrocities committed by Azerbaijan against the Armenian people. He stressed the need for international research to pay due attention to the atrocities committed, which could be a deterrent to similar human rights abuses in the region and elsewhere.
