Muuka Madubeko
Manager – Payment System Operations, Bank of Zambia
Mr. Muuka Madubeko is Manager of Payment Systems Operations at Bank of Zambia in the Banking, Currency and Payment Systems Department. Mr. Madubeko is a Zambian national with over twelve years of experience in banking and payments, having started his career as a management trainee in one of the leading commercial banks in Zambia, ZANACO, prior to joining the Central Bank of Zambia. Among his duties in his current role are to manage the payment system operations at Bank of Zambia and develop and review of payment system procedures, policies and regulations, and formulation of rules for participants. He is also responsible for coordinating and developing programs for scaling-up the use of digital payment methods. These efforts are in line with one of the Central Bank’s strategic objective on increasing financial inclusion between 2016 and 2019. The Bank of Zambia plans to increase formal financial inclusion by 16 percentage points by 2019 in order to contribute to enhanced living standards among citizens. Mr. Madubeko is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and he holds a Bachelor of Accountancy and Master in Business Administration.
