Dottie M. Bernas is a Manager of the Financial Learning Division of the Financial Consumer Affairs Group (FCAG, Supervision and Examination Sector (SES), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). She leads the development and implementation of the financial learning activities of the Group. She was with Supervision and Examination Department II of the SES doing supervision and examination of Commercial, Universal and Foreign Banks since her employment with the BSP in June 1999 till October 2006 when she joined FCAG. Her previous professional experience includes working as an external auditor with SGV and Company and as a Financial Analyst with Ayala Life Assurance Inc. In addition to her primary functions, Ms. Bernas is currently a member of the Meetings and Presentation Skills Course Committee. This is one of Committee of the BSP’s Professional Excellence Program for Supervisors. She was also a trainer in the then Structured Training for Risk-Based Supervision of the SES. She has likewise attended several trainings, local and abroad, in conducting trainings, risk based supervision and international conferences on financial education. Ms. Bernas is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Accounting, Cum Laude, from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from De La Salle University-Graduate School of Business. She is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Information Systems Auditor, a globally recognized certification for Internal Auditors and Information Systems Auditor, respectively.
