Ismail Adam was born in 1967 and obtained Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Ghana in 1990. He joined the Bank of Ghana in 1994 as a financial analyst. In 2001, Mr Adam was made a member of a committee put in place by the Bank of Ghana to implement a World Bank/IFAD/Government of Ghana project called Rural Financial Services Project (RFSP). The 10 year project was geared towards building capacities of rural financial service providers to serve the rural communities as a way of alleviating poverty in rural communities in Ghana. Mr. Adam’s membership of the committee aroused his interest in development issues and made him applied for and obtained admission to the University of Ghana in 2003 to pursue Masters in Public Administration and completed in 2005. To further strengthen his knowledge in development issues, he applied for and obtained admission to the University of Ghana to pursue Masters in Development Studies from 2008 to 2009. Presently, Mr. Adam is a Deputy Chief Manager at the Bank of Ghana responsible for appraising and making recommendations for products geared towards financial inclusion by financial service providers in Ghana. Mr. Adam has attended a number of seminars organized by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and has two (2) publications to his credit namely; Rural Finance and Poverty Alleviation Among Rural Farmers (2005) and Measuring Risk in Agricultural Credit – The case of Upper Manya Kro and Manya Krobo Rural Bank (2009).
