After working as an educator, Karim Alam changed career paths and joined the State Bank of Pakistan in 2006. Presently, he works as an associate with Infrastructure, Housing & SME Finance Department in the State Bank of Pakistan. The vision of the department is to create an enabling environment aimed at promoting and developing sustainable market-based financial services for Infrastructure, Housing, and SMEs (Small & Medium Enterprises) to support long-term economic growth. Karim believes that promotion and development of priority sectors of the economy will help in promoting economic growth on a sustainable basis, while generating employment, entrepreneurship, reducing poverty, as well as improving the quality of life.
