Marcelo Junqueira Angulo works for the Central Bank of Brazil Financial Education Department as the manager of the corporate project “Financial Citizenship – Relationship with Financial Service Providers”. The project delivers information on the most used financial services to consumer protection organizations and promotes discussion forums with financial institutions on key topics such as consumer protection, redress mechanisms, and suitability. Marcelo graduated in business administration in 2001 (Fundação Getúlio Vargas -FGV/EAESP) and has been working with financial education since 2002. During this time he founded a website that was one of the first initiatives related to the topic of money issues on the Brazilian internet. From 2006 to 2010, he worked as an independent certified financial planner.

In 2010, Marcelo joined the Central Bank of Brazil, at the Credit Unions and Non-Banking Institutions Supervision Department. In 2013, he moved from São Paulo to Brasília to coordinate the Financial Education Department team responsible for developing and disseminating a portfolio of financial education products such as online courses, short videos, website, and booklets.
