Samir Kiuhan works at the Financial Superintendence of Colombia (SFC). In this public agency, Samir leads the team in charge of drafting and evaluating financial regulation. While the Financial Regulation Unit (part of the Ministry of Finance) issues the framework, the SFC designs rules of practice (circulars) to make their decrees plausible and operational.
During his time in this post he has worked in different financial inclusion topics, including: the implementation of the savings alternatives for non-pensioners in the informal labor market, the addition of movable assets as collaterals in the loan loss provision scheme, the design and implementation of the regulatory road map for micro insurance, the regulation of bank correspondents for insurance distribution in low income areas and the risk mitigation requirements for electronic deposits managed by non-banking institutions.
