The Friedman School is proud to partner with many outside organizations to accomplish food systems work. These organizations include corporations, non-profits, farms, other education institutes in Boston and around the world, and governments. The faculty of the Friedman School set it apart as they are made up of experts with whom many organizations around the world wish to collaborate. Both government and corporate grants provide funding for much of the research going on at the Friedman School and the HNRCA. Proudly, the Friedman School also partners with local organizations in Eastern Massachusetts and Chinatown, like the New Entry Farming Project and the Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Center’s After School Program.
Creating and maintaining partnerships among stakeholders in food systems is a vital part to creating more sustainable, equitable, and functional food systems. At the Tufts Food Systems Initiative, we see the partnerships made by the Friedman School as important examples in how to create more robust food systems. These partnerships allow Friedman faculty and students to participate in more research, education, and community engagement.
