Tufts University School of Medicine hosts a variety of research activities from basic science to public health. Those interested in food systems research at the School of Medicine might look to the public health research areas, such as obesity and chronic disease, health policy, and nutrition and infectious disease. Food systems research is important at every level, from how what we eat impacts our immune systems to assessing affordability of healthful foods in different communities. The Tufts Public Health research areas site has a full list of research that may be indirectly or directly related to food systems.
Center for Health Systems and Policy
The goals of the Center for Health Systems and Policy are (1) to generate knowledge from applied research to improve health services, systems, and policy, and (2) to train the next generation of health policy analysts and system scientists. Food systems are important parts of all health systems. The Center is a good place for Tufts students interested in food systems research to inquire about such research happening at the School of Medicine.
