This project was born out of the idea that despite all the amazing food systems work being done at Tufts, members of the Tufts community were disconnected from their counterparts at different organizations, schools, or campuses. The Tufts Food Systems Initiative aims to connect the students and faculty doing this work with one another, so new innovations, ideas, and goals can emerge.
The first step in ensuring the prosperity of food systems work at Tufts was to identify this work across all Tufts-affiliated organizations. This is reflected on this site. In creating this site, we aimed to represent this work and to provide easier navigation of it than was previously possible across the separate Tufts’s sites. With all of these previously separate organizations, curricula, and other activities in one place, Tufts students and faculty and even those outside the Tufts community can reach out to those whose work interests them to maybe take a course, set up a meeting, or otherwise collaborate.
