The Food and Nutrition Innovation Institute aims to foster a robust, science-driven ecosystem of food, agricultural, and wellness innovation and entrepreneurship for a healthier, equitable, and sustainable food system. Issues in food systems are some of the most complex and difficult of our times and require innovative, outside-the-box thinking to solve. The Innovation Institute is uniquely placed to bring together people and ideas from across Tufts to tackle difficult food systems problems.
Activities conceived or supported through the Food and Innovation Institute are driven by the Innovation Council, faculty, students, policy makers, and other external stakeholders. Networking among these groups and identifying new relevant stakeholders and advisors are important parts of achieving the aims of the Institute. Networks among individuals and organizations who would not normally be connected are needed to create a more robust and adaptable food system.
The Food and Nutrition Innovation Institute is hosted by the Friedman School, but brings together many schools at Tufts to seek out and foster innovation and entrepreneurship in these areas.
