Health Systems and Policy

Health systems and food systems are intertwined, as food and nutrition are important parts of our health and both bring together social, economic, and public policy into one system. At Tufts, there is a lot of work focused on improving health systems through public policy and public health research.

The Center for Health Systems and Policy at the School of Medicine is focused on conducting research on current health systems and ways to improve them.

The Feinstein International Center specifically looks at the function of food and health systems in times of humanitarian crisis.

Several fields of study at the Fletcher School include research and eduction in how to improve international health systems through the lens of diplomacy and cooperation.

The Food and Nutrition Policy and Programs program at the Friedman School offers an education in the workings of food policy and how to enact programs based on empirical evidence for nutrition and health outcomes.
