Arri Bui

I’m a rising senior from Vietnam, pursuing a Biomedical Engineering degree. At ODDET, I’ve been working on the TBI project as a Laidlaw Scholar. My work focuses on using two-photon microscopy to image 3D engineered brain tissue post injury and to extract cellular metabolic profiles for each cell population. In doing so, we hope to develop a novel platform for identifying and assessing TBI biomarkers. In the future, I plan to work in the medical field, specifically radiology.

Artem Dinh

I am a Vietnamese-Ukrainian rising senior undergraduate pursuing Biomedical Engineering degree. At ODDET, I assisted laparoscopy development project by investigating and applying image processing techniques for polarization-enhanced images. I focus on equipping myself with tools like deep learning, imaging diagnostics, and automation to (hopefully) design a device that would eventually treat my backache.

My most favorite cheat meal is Ukrainian dumplings (pelmeni) with sour cream!

Ash Sze

Hi, my name is Ash. I’m a junior BME and CS major working on triculture annotations in the ODDET lab. I’m from Hong Kong and in my free time, I like to sketch, bike and listen to music. Soup (any) is my favorite food and my future goal is travel the United States by motorcycle.

Jasmine Kwan

I am a rising senior from Hong Kong majoring in BME. At ODDET, I work with Nilay on his project on circulating tumor cell cluster detection using backscatter flow cytometry. Some things I do include culturing cancer cells, making microfluidic devices, working with mice, and working on machine learning and peak detection codes. I’m excited to see where this project goes and how it can be applied to other fields of research!

My favorite meal is char siu (Cantonese BBQ pork) rice along with Hong Kong milk tea!

Varshini Ramanathan

Hi! I am a senior majoring in BME and minoring in CS. In the ODDET Lab, I work on image analysis of brain cells using two-photon and fluorescence lifetime imaging in order to identify biomarkers associated with traumatic brain injury. In the future, I want to work in research and design of optical instruments for clinical use. My favorite food is Indian curried cauliflower!
