Immunohistochemical Staining of Parafollicular Cells.

The C-cells/parafollicular cells are found detween the follicles. This is a picture of immunohistochemical staining using an antibody against calcitonin. The positive reaction product is brown and can be seen in large cells in the parfollicular areas. Calcitonin supresses bone resorption and lowers blood calcium levels. Original mag. 100x.
