Thymus of the dog at low power

A thin connective tissue forms the capsule of this organ. Connective tissue septae extending inward from the capsule divide the organ into lobules. The cortex is darker and the medulla is lighter. The medulla is continuous between the adjacent lobules (although they look like isolated islands here). PK2966-96. H&E. Thymus, Immune system, Dog.
