Trabecular Artery in Canine Spleen

This slide shows the longitudinal section of a trabecular artery in the spllen. Notice the smooth muscle cells that make up the tunica media of the artery. The tunica adventitia stains blue in this preparation. The trabecula itself is made up of fibromuscular tissue. There is a lymphoid nodule in the white pulp. Original mag. 25x. Masson’s trichrome.
