Medulla of Feline Thymus

The medulla of the thymus is paler in staining when compared to that of the cortex. There are plasma cells, lymphocytes, macrophages and epithelial reticular cells in this region. Thymic (Hassall’s) corpuscles are characteristics features of this tissue. These structures are made up of concentrically arranged epithelial recicular cells that can be quite eosinophilic.
