Comparison of Corpora Cavernosa & Corpus Spongiosum
The erectile cylinders are bound by connective tissue sheath — the tunica albugina. The t.a. of the corpora cavernosa is thick and helps to keep the twin cylinders very rigid during erection. The t.a. of the corpus spongiosum is thin and the spngiosum does not reach the same degree of rigidity as the c. cavernosa. The penile is located in the c. spongiosum. Semi-thin section. Penis. Male Reproductive System. Primate.
