Papillary ducts in the renal medulla of a dog.

This micrograph was taken close to the area cribrosa of the renal papliia. The lateral plasma membranes of the epithelial cells are easily seen. Connective tissue is seen between the ducts. (The morphology of the collecting ducts and the papillary ducts are quite similar. The papillary ducts of Bellini usually have taller cells and wider lumens. These features, however, are not obvious in this specimen). Original mag. 100x H&E Kidney medulla. Urinary System. Dog
