A journalist for four decades now, Glenda M. Gloria co-founded Rappler in July 2011 and served as its managing editor until November 2020, when she was named executive editor.

She started as a newspaper reporter a month before the 1986 people power revolution that ended the Marcos dictatorship in the Philippines. As a reporter, she covered the presidency and the military, as well as human rights and rebel movements in the Phillipines, among others.

Ms Gloria ran newspaper, online and TV newsrooms before she co-founded Rappler.

The books that she has co-authored include Under the Crescent Moon: Rebellion in Mindanao, and The Enemy Within: An Inside Story on Military Corruption.

A British Chevening scholar, she holds a master’s degree in political sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science. In 2018, Glenda finished her Nieman journalism fellowship at Harvard University.
