The Development of the Ebola Vaccine: A Social Network Approach

Kai Keller leads the World Economic Forum’s work at the intersection of innovation and financial stability where he is also a Global Leadership Fellow. He is working with private and public stakeholders exploring the changes in the financial ecosystem as a result of technology-enabled innovation ranging from the appropriate use of customer data to leveraging digital tools for enhancing financial inclusion. Prior to joining the Forum, he was a consultant at the Clinton Health Access Initiative and an equity salestrader at Credit Suisse, Macquarie Capital, and Daiwa Securities. He is a contributor to WIRED and CNN Business.

In 2016 him and two partners founded ‘Afya Capital’, an investment vehicle focused on transforming the East African pharmaceuticals manufacturing landscape. The Nairobi-based venture was looking to invest in local manufacturers of essential medicine and help them produce high quality, affordable medicines in the East African region and for the region.

Kai holds a B.A. in Politics and Economics from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA) and a M.A. in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University (Medford, MA) where he concentrated in Global Heath and International Negotiations. He is an Atlantik-Brücke Young Leader.
