Panagiota Kaltsa

Using Technology to Increase Citizen Participation

Panagiota Kaltsa (M.A.) has transitioned between the corporate, education, NGO and international development fields since 2007. She has led the establishment of the first transboundary Conservation Trust Fund in the Balkans (EUR27M) on behalf of WWF Greece, KfW Bank, and MAVA Foundation. Advancing her water diplomacy experience she moved on to raise awareness of water scarcity issues and promote citizen engagement across the Mediterranean with Global Water Partnership. She started her career working as an international manager for HSBC Bank in the UK, Malta, and Greece. In banking, she held positions in retail, corporate, maritime shipping and marketing sectors and was actively involved in corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Panagiota graduated with an MA in Strategic Management and International Communication from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in Boston, USA. During her studies, she worked as an Online Education Strategist at the Tufts Institute of the Environment, where she also coordinated an annual environmental literacy workshop for faculty. She serves as a member of the Fulbright-Greece, the Fletcher Women Network and The Fund For American Studies alumni councils. She has a vivid interest in the application of technology in governance, education, and humanitarian work, and she believes in enabling citizen participation towards a sustainable future. Panagiota lives in Munich where she works as Head of Communication promoting European values at Alliance 4 Europe.
