Lieutenant Colonel David I. Stamps, United States Air Force

Lieutenant Colonel David Stamps a National Defense Fellow at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University. Prior to his fellowship, he served as the Commander of the 57th Weapons Support Squadron, USAF Weapons School, Nellis AFB, NV where he was charged with supporting the USAF’s most diverse Operations Group and most advanced Weapons and Tactics training course. Lt Col Stamps directed all Nellis-based Weapons School support functional areas to include Air Combat Command’s largest flying hour program which is comprised of over 6600 sorties annually. As a fully qualified F-15E instructor, Lt Col Stamps evaluates the CAF’s preeminent instructors and students through nine phases of training, nearly 300 hours of academics, and teaches graduate-level operational art and Joint integration lectures focusing on synthesizing effects across all warfighting domains.

Lt Col Stamps completed Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL in 2000. He has served as a Chief of Combat Plans, Flight Commander, Chief of Weapons and Tactics, Assistant Director of Operations, Director of Staff, and USSTRATCOM J5 Strategic Planner. He has flown a variety of aircraft ranging from the T-34, T-1, T-39, T-38, and F-15E. Lt Col Stamps has over 2000 flight hours, 463 of which are combat.
