My name is Melanie Sun, and I am a third-year undergraduate at Tufts University studying biomedical engineering and the pre-medical track.
Follow along my journey with my projects and assignments for my Engineering Design Process course (BME66).

a little more
about me.
Born in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up near Minneapolis, Minnesota, I am quite familiar with the Midwest (and actively exploring the East Coast!).
My yearning to dive into medicine and tinkering in high school robotics led me to biomedical engineering. I am drawn towards surgical practices and interventional therapy. Recently, I joined David Kaplan’s Lab, working in his neuro group on drug delivery for glioblastoma.
Apart from my studies, you can find me around campus tutoring for the StAAR center, at Tufts Engineers Without Borders (EWB), climbing, and occasionally boxing.
I enjoy the outdoors and experimenting with new flavor combinations in the kitchen.
The photo to the left is from my recent trip to the Solomoni Community in Malawi with Tufts EWB!
