Gallery Ambassadors [Tufts University Art Gallery]

Job Description:
The Tufts University Art Gallery is hiring four Gallery Ambassadors to join its core team of 12 student workers. Gallery Ambassadors provide a range of visitor services from front desk greeting and orientation, to ‘concierge-style’ problem solving, to security of works of art on loan for exhibitions, to conducting audience marketing surveys, to logistical support at special events and receptions. Ambassadors are the first, and often only staff members that the visiting public
encounters and thus bear the primary responsibility of creating a positive visitor experience.

Ambassadors will work 10 hours per week (except during times when the Gallery is closed to the public) and occasional special events. Ambassadors will work either Saturdays or Sundays from 11am to 5pm and 4 additional hours during the week. Gallery Hours are: Tuesdays through Sundays, 11am to 5pm and Thursdays 11am to 8pm. Position begin May 5th.

Qualifications:
Visitor or customer service experience and outgoing, friendly, and mature personality required. BA in an arts related field and/or museum and gallery experience preferred. If you cannot work weekends, do not apply. Minimum 1-year commitment required.
