The Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director and the program staff to ensure that all fundraising accurately reflects Weeksville’s mission and programs. Applicants should possess some familiarity with NYC’s cultural funding community, exceptional writing and communication skills, experience with social media fundraising and outreach, and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a flexible team environment.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Create and execute multi-year fundraising plan to support organizational growth
• Liaise with foundations and corporations to increase institutional support
• Manage fundraising and grants calendar, including tracking all grant submissions, program deliverables and reporting requirements.
• Handle all grant proposal and reporting requirements i.e. preparation of letters of interest, proposals, reports and the creation of supporting materials for grants from foundations, corporations and government funding entities with support from Executive Director
• Researching new fundraising opportunities
• Creating and emailing newsletters, invitations and other communications via Constant Contact
• Aid in preparation and management of organization budget
• Direct/assist on other events, community outreach, programs, and other activities as needed.
• Work with Executive Director and Board to establish major donors program, including cultivation events
• Supervise day-to day development needs, including preparing acknowledgements, overseeing and maintaining WHC’s growing database
