The Trustees of Reservations is one of Massachusetts’ largest non-profits and the nation’s first conservation and preservation organization, and we believe in protecting the irreplaceable forever, for everyone. We are looking for Volunteer Resources Coordinators to serve as ambassadors in the community while building, fostering and engaging a diverse volunteer corps to help us grow and maintain our special places. As a natural leader, you will serve as the face of our organization within our volunteer community, creating fun and rewarding experiences for our volunteer corps as they work side-by-side with our dedicated staff.

Assessing the volunteering needs in your region, you will find exciting ways enhance programs & services with an eager volunteer base that you will establish through your involvement in developing community relationships. You will work with the other Volunteer Resources Coordinators across the state and the statewide Volunteer Manager to develop standards and practices surrounding the volunteer program, including the implementation of intake, interview, and screening processes for potential volunteers. Using your supervisory and management skills and customer service centric attitude, you will develop goals and objectives for the volunteer program and specific activities, matching the skills, qualifications, and interests of the volunteers and the needs of your region. You will train volunteers and staff to work cohesively, using your knowledge of volunteer management and volunteering trends to develop a program to reward volunteers for their meaningful work and commitment to The Trustees.

Qualifications:
Organization will be crucial while documenting and measuring engagement efforts, volunteer check-in procedures, volunteer hours, and the impact volunteers are having on the goals and objectives of specific projects and the overall mission of The Trustees. Your passion will be evident to volunteers seeking to perform meaningful mission-driven work and support our wonderful cause. You will use your knowledge of volunteerism to identify and minimize risks associated with volunteering, and ensure that volunteers are working in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment where they are able to grow.

The Volunteer Resources Coordinator will require flexibility in terms of evening and weekend commitments. Many events and tasks are outside, and will require the ability to lift 40lbs independently and spend periods of time standing. Travel using a personal vehicle is required, and any offer for employment is contingent on a satisfactory criminal background check. The Volunteer Resources Coordinator is a full-time, year round, exempt position and is eligible for benefits offered by The Trustees, including: medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability and life insurance, vacation, sick, and personal time, and the option to participate in our 401(k) plan.
