Job Description

About Bayou Bend:

Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens is the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, house museum for early American decorative arts and paintings. The Bayou Bend Collection is considered one of the finest of its kind in the country, comparable to those found in New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Winterthur. The objects are displayed in the home of legendary philanthropist and collector Ima Hogg (1882–1975), who gave her estate to the MFAH in 1957. Situated on fourteen acres, Bayou Bend’s twenty-eight rooms reflect America’s historic and stylistic periods from 1620 to 1876. Bayou Bend’s overall annual attendance exceeds 100,000; educational programs for adults and families are offered throughout the year. The renowned Bayou Bend docents provide individual, group, and school tours six days a week. An 18,000 sf education and visitor center houses exhibits, orientation films, and a non-circulating American decorative arts research library.
