Duties & Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator reports to the Associate Provost (AP) for Arts and Culture in the Office of the Provost and works closely with faculty and staff in arts and culture organizations, such as the museums, the American Repertory Theater and other affiliates, and departments within the University, as well as with external contacts in arts.

He/she will participate in a wide range of projects identified as priorities by the AP. These projects span multiple aspects of the Provost’s organization and include areas such as: 1) coordinating ongoing development of University-wide arts initiatives including staffing Harvard Committee on the Arts; 2) managing special projects assigned by the AP that emerge from various initiatives, such as the Arts Portal; 3) conducts research and analysis, and prepares presentations, reports, briefings and memos.

The Project Coordinator will also provide high-level administrative support for the AP for Arts and Culture including: planning, scheduling, and preparing meetings including meeting materials; composing and distributing meeting minutes; preparing sensitive documentation for committee meetings; maintaining filing systems and databases; and processing invoices and expense reports.

Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
3-5 years of progressive administrative and project coordination experience. Extensive experience using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, complex work environment, using excellent judgment and discretion, with a diverse population of administrators and faculty.

Additional Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred. Previous administrative and project management experience in the arts highly preferred. Proven ability to work independently, establish goals, set priorities and carry out project tasks with limited direction. Excellent organizational and creative problem-solving skills. Proven ability to work collaboratively and be an effective team player. Excellent interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills essential. Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Please note that all finalists will be asked to provide a writing sample.
