Position Title: Education Associate

Position Description: The Education Associate is the Education Department’s primary liaison to teachers, students, group tour leaders, and other constituents who contact the Museum to request information about a wide range of programming. The successful candidate will be articulate and enthusiastic about current exhibitions and opportunities for visitation. He/she will also be the primary administrative support for the Department across all program areas—including public, university, school, family, and access programs—and an integral member of the Education team.Responsibilities Include: • Schedule all school and adult group tours, including booking appointments, sending invoices, and keeping track of payments.• Work with program heads within the Education Department to develop, monitor, and maintain all budgets, including expenditures, reconciliation, and contract management.• Serve as a liaison to the Finance Department.• Implement evaluation procedures for all Education programs, including data entry.• Order and oversee all departmental supplies including art supplies, catalogues, and touch objects.• Assist with the preparation of annual reports.• Handle logistics for special events and programs.• Provide administrative support for the Director of Education.• Coordinate Education Advisory Board Committee meetings and department meetings.• Update Education Department program information on the Museum’s website.

Qualifications: BA in Art History, Education, or related field, or BFA in Studio Art required; MA in Art History, Museum Education, or MFA in Studio Art preferred; Knowledge of modern and contemporary art preferred; Must be detail oriented, organized, enthusiastic about working collaboratively, and have excellent writing skills; Excellent general computer skills, including MS Office Suite. Adobe Creative Suite knowledge preferred; Willingness to learn new skills, including updating the Museum’s web listings
