Development Officer, MFA Fund

Description:
The MFA seeks a high-energy, data-driven, proactive individual to manage and grow the MFA annual fund (the ‘MFA Fund’). Under the direction of the Director, Annual Programs, the Development Officer is responsible for identifying and implementing strategies to grow the MFA Fund through the acquisition, renewal, and increased giving of MFA Fund donors. The Development Officer assures that the program is well coordinated with the Museum’s Development and Membership efforts and communication channels. An integral member of the Annual Programs team, the Development Officer works in collaboration with the Patron Program and Museum Council staff on Annual Programs events, database management, and special projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three to five years in the fundraising/development field. Proven experience in managing a direct appeal, revenue generating program. Strong written and interpersonal communication skills. Creative strategist who also has strong analytical skills. Working knowledge of best practices in the current fundraising environment (e.g., social media, mobile, video, etc.). Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks fluidly and efficiently. A personality and work style that thrives in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to work both independently and as a team player. Ability to handle confidential information. Solid working knowledge of PC-based Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. High level of comfort with database systems preferred.
