Visitor Experience and Education Fellow

We currently have openings for our fall Fellowship position! Fellows will participate in an intensive 10-month hands-on learning experience in museum education, programming, exhibits and visitor experience/operations. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who is looking to build a solid foundation for a career in museums, or who is interested in informal education. The Visitor Experience and Education Fellows (VEEF) are responsible for promoting a welcoming, engaging and fun learning experience for all visitors by interacting with children and families throughout their visit to the Museum. Through positive and meaningful interactions with visitors, VEEFs bring the Museum’s mission to life. VEEFs participate in year-long training and professional development that is centered on specific exhibit content knowledge and programs as well as Informal Education, Family Engagement, 5-Star Visitor Experience, Access for all, and the Power of Play. Qualifications: College degree/experience preferred; Experience in customer service, education, family learning, or retail operations preferred; Experience working with young children and their families in recreational settings, afterschool programs or classrooms; Ability to react positively to a rapidly changing environment and make good decisions under pressure; Ability to interact positively with diverse staff and visitors; Fluency in multiple languages a plus.
