Job Description

The Mobile Innovation Truck is a new Perot Museum initiative that will focus on community outreach, engaging youth and families in hands-on, maker-based science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) experiences that foster creativity and confidence.  Reporting to the Director of Public Programs, the Mobile Innovation Truck Manager is an energetic, organized individual with a passion for combining innovation with detailed program planning and delivery, as well as organization and interest in science and technology.  The Manager directly organizes, operates and maintains all aspects of the Mobile Innovation/Maker Truck, including:  building community partners, development and implementation of maker-based curriculum/activities, scheduling and management of two trucks.  Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Perot Museum maker-based programs are organized, innovative, engaging, and fun, while providing outstanding, high-quality program experiences to the DFW community.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree • 3-5 years of experience in program coordination for an informal or formal educational organization and be able to create and evaluate project budgets.  • Minimum 2 years of direct team management • 1-2 years of experience with maker-related programming and application • Experience and knowledge of essential maker space tools including 3D printers, design programs, laser cutters, vinyl cutters, table-top CNC machine • Experience in new program concept development and implementation, creating innovative and high-quality programs • Effective team management and organizational skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, positive attitude, collaborative spirit and ability to interface at all levels. • Experience developing plans, organizing work and achieving results on schedule and on budget. • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral. • Must be highly motivated, collaborative, organized, flexible, and innovative • Self-starter, strong at multitasking and networking skills. • Ability to drive large profile vehicles • Must have a high-level understanding of computers and various data tracking and reporting programs (Excel, Word, Explorer and Outlook) and is expected to have experience with interactive data collection software and hardware. • Fluent in Spanish preferred
