The Denver Art Museum is seeking a dynamic and experienced manager to lead its onsite and group sales and services teams.  This includes transactional and service elements related to ticketing and membership, as well as group and school tour bookings.   This position is responsible for achieving revenue goals and developing and implementing sales strategies related to retention and acquisition of ticket and membership purchasers, developing processes for back-of-house administration and reporting, and working collaboratively with colleagues interdepartmentally to achieve revenue goals.

Job Requirements

Essential responsibilities for this position include:

  • Developing and implementing long and short range strategies to drive revenue, and maximize efficiency.
  • Oversight and management of all front-and back-of-house functions for ticketing and membership sales and fulfillment needs, including staffing, call center operations, and customer service.
  • Maintaining departmental ownership of The Raiser’s Edge and ATMS+ ticketing software systems, ensuring their optimization to meet business needs.
  • Preparing and analyzing reports, including statistical sales trends to aid in the development of targeted marketing, communications, and sales strategies.
  • Providing expert counsel on the creation and management of lists and segments for direct mail and email acquisition and retention efforts collaborating as needed with marketing and development departments.
  • Exemplifying the museum’s customer service philosophy in his/her daily activities and championing that philosophy institutionally.
  • Collaborating extensively with colleagues interdepartmentally to achieve revenue, attendance, and membership goals.
  • Establishing and leading telemarketing campaigns as needed to achieve revenue goals.
  • Developing, implementing, and documenting departmental processes and procedures.

This position directly supervises three full-time employees and indirectly supervises dozens of part-time sales associates and group services associates.

Successful candidates for this position will possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of standard business principles and practices, including budgeting and staff management
  • Experience with box office and ticketing
  • Excellent judgment and troubleshooting skills
  • Conscientiousness and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong word processing and database skills
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Minimum of seven years’ of experience managing sales teams in a revenue generating environment
  • Data analysis and forecasting experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing/nurturing positive customer interactions
  • Experience working with databases
  • A minimum of two years’ experience with direct mail list management
  • A four year college degree

The nature of this position demands a flexible work schedule including evening, weekend, and holiday hours as needed.   Salary commensurate with experience.
