Artful Adventures Museum Educators

Description:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Community Arts and the Assistant Manager of Community Arts, the Museum Educators will teach in various Artful Adventures programs for children (preschool through high school) in the Museum’s galleries and studio spaces, and off-site at locations such as community centers, after school programs, and libraries. Programs can include: Artful Adventures Tours, Birthday Parties, Community Partnership Visits, Home School Programs, Off-site Programs, Events, and Festivals, What Artists Do Programs, and other various events and programs as needed. The Educators will plan customized visits, tours, and art activities with teachers, group leaders, and staff members, and will also work with Community Programs staff to facilitate and teach programs, interact with visitors, and create an enriching museum learning experience. Less than 17.5 hours/week; schedule includes at least two days per week, including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications:
B.A. or B.F.A. in art education, education, or studio art; one to three years of museum experience or similar educational environment preferred; experience in teaching and working with groups of children; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; flexibility, patience, and self-motivation; studio art experience preferred.
