Facility Technician

Description:
This position will perform tasks associated with general building operations and needs.  He/she will be responsible for inspecting, testing and performing operations and preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical equipment, electrical equipment, and electronic building management control equipment and assisting with mechanical repairs, testing procedures, event control and support and preparing gallery spaces for art installations and maintaining gallery spaces once art has been installed. Performs preventive maintenance, responds to building emergencies, communicates with and supervises vendors and contractors as needed.
Qualifications:
Understanding of general and routine building maintenance tasks. At least 2 years of experience working in HVAC, electrical or similar area. Ability to work flexible hours and be on call during assigned periods. Ability to use ladders, conduct overhead work, including in lifts and genies, lifting 50 lbs, standing for long periods, kneeling, bending. Ability to work in noisy environments, use safety equipment protection to perform tasks. Ability to operate office equipment and general mobility throughout the building required. Valid Mass driver’s license. Position is full-time, Monday-Friday plus occasional additional or on-call hours as needed.
