Job Description

The Witte Museum seeks a creative and proven sales professional to drive visitors to the Witte Museum through attendance, events, programs and rentals. The Vice President of Marketing and Sales will be responsible for driving attendance for exhibitions and programs, membership, building rentals and museum store.

The Witte Museum is seeking candidates who exude professionalism, creativity and field knowledge. An exceptional speaker, writer, relationship builder and strategic thinker, the ideal candidate is highly organized and driven by setting goals, developing plans, and executing. This is a multifaceted role requiring equal measures of skill and sophistication in marketing communication strategy, mechanics, management and leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Head team of marketing, public relations, and social media professionals
  • Develop, implement and manage comprehensive, integrated sales campaigns to successfully drive visitors to the Witte’s exhibitions, programs and events, including blockbuster exhibitions (2016 Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed and 2017 Whales,among others)
  • Develop and monitor marketing and sales budgets. Track, analyze and report on status of marketing and PR campaigns to show proven ROI
  • Identify and establish cross promotional marketing partnerships with third parties
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau, Concierge Associations and other hospitality partners
  • Interface with various department personnel to elicit information on exhibitions, educational programs, building rentals, and fundraising events to develop and implement sales campaigns to promote their revenue generating events and programs
  • Supervise Marketing and Communication team, which includes a Director of Creative Design and Brand, Marketing Manager, Communications Manager, and Digital Media Coordinator
  • Serves as part of the Senior Management Team
  • Reports directly to the President and CEO
