SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Overnight Staff oversee the operations of the Overnight program in the absence of full-time Overnight staff (3:30 pm -11 am each Overnight) to ensure that the program runs smoothly and safely. S/he will also serve as the Museum host during each Overnight and coordinate the logistics of the evening including: check-in, food management, safety tours for leaders, handling medical emergencies, shutting down exhibits and lights and being on call all night.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work 10-15 nights per year from 3:30 pm -11 am
  • Manage 300-600 Overnight Participants each night
  • Participate in 20-30 hours of training

WORK SCHEDULE: This position is scheduled to work 1-2 shifts per month, 19.5 hours per shift, on Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday evenings.
REPORTS TO: Director, Education & Enrichment

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One (1) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written skills
  • Experience effectively managing large groups of people
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a calm and appropriate manner
  • Demonstrated organizational skills

STARTING SALARY: Non-Exempt (Hourly). Commensurate with experience.
