Under the direction of the Director of Planning and Analysis, this position plays a key role in the overall budgeting (operating and capital) and long term planning processes for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Essential Functions:
• Responsible for data collection and analysis. Provide a high level of customer service to departments throughout the Museum in developing their budgets, addressing inquiries, and researching variances. Involved in reporting and forecasting as appropriate.
• Provide timely and insightful analysis on a variety of topics. Often required to analyze large amounts of complex data and provide information to management by assembling and summarizing data, preparing reports and PowerPoint presentations for senior management.
• Responsible for assuring high quality and timely information to support institutional decision making.
• Provide various levels of support to all areas of the Budget and Planning Office, while being a resource to departments throughout the Museum.
• Working with the Controller’s office, enhance financial modeling tools to be utilized in analysis and planning.
• Update and monitor monthly key metrics in concert with the Controller’s office.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or Business Management; MBA/CPA a plus
• Minimum 5 years financial analysis experience
• Non Profit and endowment accounting experience a plus
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills; knowledge of Oracle helpful
• The position requires the skill to efficiently and effectively organize and work with data from multiple sources within spreadsheets
• Attention to detail and effectively manage time to get assigned tasks completed as scheduled
• Ability to handle a diverse workload with tight deadlines at peak periods
• Strong verbal and written communications including presentations; able to interface at all levels of the organization
• Highly motivated and organized
• Must handle confidential data with ultimate care and discretion
