Delaware Art Museum is an organization poised for growth. This independent, 501c3 nonprofit institution is the premier art museum for Delaware.  It is housed in a stunning facility pursuing exceptional exhibitions, compelling art programs and caring for significant art collections and archives.  The Executive Director and CEO will implement a vision for the 21st century that builds on the institution’s excellence, while identifying new opportunities for growth. S/He will oversee the planning, implementation and assessment of a comprehensive strategic plan.

Requirements

The Delaware Art Museum seeks an accomplished leader who has a compelling vision for the transformative power of informal learning environments. This individual is a curious, lifelong learner who is passionate about art. This person will be a tireless advocate for the Museum’s mission and will inspire others to support the institution’s outcomes and success. S/He will have at least ten years of progressive leadership experience in education, nonprofit, corporate or government sectors. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the ability to operate effectively within a nonprofit governing environment. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is expected. A degree at the graduate level is strongly preferred.
