The main purpose of the Marketing & Communications Director is to establish a strategic path for all agency promotion and internal and external communications and implement that strategy through fiscally responsible, ethical, and effective actions that increase revenue and attendance and build the affinity for the agency and its brand. It supports the mission of the organization by helping to define and refine the mission, as well as promote the agency’s activities so that it can achieve the scope of the mission.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related discipline. Ten to Fifteen years’ experience in marketing and communications. Excellent writing skills for print and digital media. Public relations and media relations training and experience, including the creation and distribution of long and short lead press releases as well as giving interviews, coordinating press tours, and representing an organization in local, state, national, and even sometimes international media. Mastery of public speaking, both scripted and impromptu. Experience advising executive level staff about decisions affecting everyday business/operations and long range planning. Experience handling sensitive information discreetly and professionally. Ability to work across departments, with staff at various levels, and with a diverse public. Proficient in MS Office, Constant Contact, and social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Reddit, and Snapchat. Experience planning and reforecasting budgets. Training and experience in crisis management and crisis communications.
