We are seeking an accomplished, innovative, and dynamic individual for the endowed position of Kristin and Roger Servison Curator of Paintings. This is a full-time position devoted to all aspects of the Art of the Americas paintings collections from the seventeenth through the twentieth centuries, including North, Central and South America, and building upon the foundation of the galleries, exhibitions, and programs that have accompanied the opening of the award-winning Art of the Americas Wing (November 2010).

Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate excellent research, writing, and speaking abilities and must be committed to working creatively, collaboratively, and independently with all museum departments, the public, and colleagues in the broader museum field, both nationally and internationally. Graduate degree is expected (Ph.D. is preferred), with specialization in paintings that encompass and extend the Art of the Americas collections, as well as an ability to manage complex projects effectively and develop new expertise as museum initiatives evolve. Five years museum or comparable experience required, including demonstrated experience working with collectors and donors, new audiences, conservators and framers, as well as a range of new media and technology. The Servison Curator is reviewed by the Department Chair in conjunction with the senior curator, and will enjoy collaborating with departmental curators and others throughout the Museum in working on the following initiatives: collection development; donor cultivation; exhibitions and publications; gallery installations; conservation issues; interpretation; and engagement with the public through programming, new media and technology.
