Production Manager

Description:
Reporting to the Director of Theater Operations, The Production Manager is responsible for assuring a successful pre-production, load in, show run and strike for all ICA programmed dance performances, CrashArts performances, music, educational and special events as assigned. The Production Manager is also responsible for coordination of technical resources between events; maintenance and operation of production equipment and equipment data bases; working directly with artists to problem solve and trouble shoot; serving as crew chief for selected events; and overseeing the maintenance of the physical theater space and support spaces. The Production Manager is responsible for the ICA’s lighting system and equipment in the theater space. He/she will create and maintain theatrical technical drawings and paperwork using Vectorworks and Lightwrite,oversee all technical components (lights, video, audio, scenic, and rigging) and direct technicians for all ICA shows. He/she will also oversee all production rental orders, expendable orders and vendor relations for the various assigned programs and productions as well as create lighting and event design for internal events, fundraisers and education events as needed.

Qualifications:
Five years of experience managing production for large-scale performances and/or events; ability to design lights for small dance shows, event lighting and small music performances; ability to lay a marley floor, handle and hang soft goods, rig booms and assist with best safety practices onstage. Advanced knowledge of Vectorworks and Lightwrite is essential. Knowledge of rigging, power and video (how to install and run a power point, keynote or DVD) strongly preferred. Additional preferred software knowledge includes digital interface with lighting and audio boards, keynote, Powerpoint, QLab as well as administrative worksites such as excel, Gmail suite, outlook. A working knowledge of audio: signal flow, digital consoles and general understanding of gear. Good oral and written communication skills, pro-active and ability to work well as part of a team in deadline-driven situations. Experience with and a supportive attitude toward working with artists. Excellent organizational and problem solving skills are essential. Ability to climb ladders to the grid and lift 50lbs and ability to operate office equipment and general mobility throughout the building required. Full-time schedule is 40 hours per week on-site, and nights and weekends as required.
