Description

The Development Associate is a key member of the development team.   This individual contributes to the Foundation’s efforts to secure major gifts for the Directors Leadership Fund, Exhibition Development Fund, Museum Education Fund, and special programs.  Responsibilities include prospect research, prospect and donor tracking, and donor communications and events.  The Associate reports to the Directors of Leadership Giving or Director, Centennial Campaign, and works collaboratively with the Foundation’s overall development team.

Requirements

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works to meet or exceed the specific metrics for contributed income and donor participation for Major Giving to the Directors Leadership Fund and Exhibition Development Fund, as outlined in the Museum of New Mexico Foundation Fund Development Plan.
  • Performs prospect research on individuals, family foundations, and corporations. Responsible for entry of research data into the database and the creation and maintenance of research reports. Maintains a library of annual reports and donor lists from related organizations necessary to performing research.
  • Tracks and maintains prospect and donor activity in the database following department guidelines.
  • Works collaboratively with the development team to prepare gift proposals, solicitation plans, donor correspondence, stewardship and other reports.
  • Assists in the coordination of annual and major giving cultivation and stewardship events.  This work may include supervising outside contractors, preparing invitations, tracking responses, handling event logistics and management of expense budgets to ensure cost effective expenditures.
  • For Suz?:  The Associate hCoordinates director’s/lead trustee meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, room set-up, taking meeting notes and performing follow-up.
  • Provides administrative support to Friends groups and the Foundation’s development team as needed, performs other duties as appropriate, provides backup phone support and is required to work at offsite locations and on some evenings and weekends.
