The Antique Boat Museum (ABM), the largest freshwater nautical Museum in the world, requires a full time Curator effective February 2016. Situated on the St. Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands region, ABM has a talented and committed staff of 12 full-time and several more part-time and seasonal employees, a 4.5-acre river campus with five exhibit buildings and an extraordinary collection of over 320 antique boats. The Curator’s principal responsibility is the care and management of the Museum’s permanent collection. The Curator, who reports to the Executive Director, also oversees the Department, which consists of other curatorial and educational staff.  The department is responsible for creating mission-driven exhibits, programming, workshops and classes.

The successful candidate should have a Master’s degree in Museum Studies, Education, or related fields; have teaching and/or curatorial and exhibit experience; and have excellent communication and organizational skills. Starting salary is competitive and dependent on qualifications and career accomplishments.
