Front Desk Attendant (PT)
The Institute of Contemporary Art seeks a reliable and friendly person with excellent customer service skills to work at the museum’s Admissions Desk and Box Office as Front Desk Attendant. He/she will welcome visitors, provide information about the museum and our exhibits as well as the neighborhood as needed. He/she will sell admission to the museum, theater performances, and memberships using Patron Edge ticketing software system. Additional duties include following cash handling procedures, maintaining ticket stock, managing crowds during peak times, operating the museum’s coat check and staying in contact with gallery staff by radio. Ability to operate office equipment and general mobility throughout the building required. Part-time schedule is to be determined but will include nights and/or weekends.
Experience in retail, museum, customer service or public-facing settings. Interpersonal skills, an ability to work in a fast paced environment and with a sense of urgency when needed, remain calm under pressure and use good judgement.
