Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center located in Bristol CT is looking for a Museum Art Studio Educator to join our team. Imagine Nation, A Museum Early Learning Center is an innovative integration of a preschool program and children’s museum. This unique learning experience extends the classroom curriculum into the museum and provides intentional teaching opportunities related to twelve museum studios. Imagine Nation has drawn inspiration from the renowned schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy. This position requires an Education degree in ECE/Elementary and fine arts or art education, and experience working with ECE/Elementary and fine art education. Reggio Emilia approach is desired. Musical ability and familiarity with children’s literature a plus. Responsibilities include but are not limited to maintaining the art studio of the children’s museum,including inventory of supplies and tools.and integration of the arts into science and social studies based units of studyDeveloping the arts curriculum for the museum and on-site preschool. Creating and facilitating engaging art experiences for the public with emphasis on authentic art tools and techniques. Managing long-term projects of the preschool, including serving as a resource for classroom teaching staff, teaching related art lessons to young children, and assisting with the documentation and display of children’s work . This is a part time position 20-30 hours per week, flexible schedule Wednesday-Sunday.
