Position Opening: School-Age Learning Programs Developer at Providence
Children’s Museum*
Providence Children’s Museum is Rhode Island’s only museum especially
for children, parents and care providers. Its mission is to inspire and
celebrate learning through active play and exploration. The School-Age
Learning Programs Developer is responsible for the development and
functioning of play and learning experiences at the Museum and in the
community for children ages 5 to 11, ensuring content accuracy,
age-appropriateness and excellence in presentation of programs.

Responsibilities include:
•Develop and present or supervise presentation of high-quality learning
activities for the general public (families as well as school,
recreation, homeschool and scout groups) at the Museum and in the community
• Supervise AmeriCorps team in developing and implementing outreach
activities
• Serve as a senior member of the Education Department in developing
policies, procedures, training and plans for programs, environments and
the smooth operation of the visitor experience at the Museum
• Work collaboratively with visitor services, communications and
exhibits staff at the Museum to coordinate schedules, manage resources,
and implement strategic plan goals

Qualifications include:
• Proven track record as a dynamic educator and leader with strong
interpersonal skills
• Minimum five years experience in an educational environment, at least
three of those in informal learning program development
• Excellent attention to detail while setting priorities, meeting
critical deadlines and flexibly solving problems in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment
• Experience in training and supervising staff
• Experience working with community engagement and outreach
